Austin Artist - R. Brent Hollingsead

The Subconcious Whimsey series is an exercise in free form drawing that's usually
finished with hand painted color. Somtimes this work becomes backdrops for other series
of works. Brent starts by doing line drawings, often inked with perminent pen. This act
ensures that each line is confident and exists without regrets. Each line is reinforced with
consecutive lines and subjects. It also forces the artist to paint without thinking,
accentuating the spontenaity and dreamy quality of this method.
